Northern Vietnam Family Adventure Tour in 6 Days

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)

Cozy Vietnam Travel’s tour guide and driver welcome our family upon arrival then take us to our centrally located hotel in the city. Relax in the rest of the day or we welcome sunset at the Westlake area with a cup of coffee or fruit shake then enjoy our welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant in town. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

Today, after having breakfast at the hotel, we venture Hanoi capital city with our private tour guide and vehicle. Firstly, we visit the heart of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, the Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda or the Ho Chi Minh museum if you are interested in. And then stop at the Temple of Literature for exploring the first Vietnam University which is a temple nowadays. We may meet many Vietnamese students who come here to praise to get good luck their studies… After that, we relax and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, we travel to the outskirt of Hanoi to visit one of the most interesting museums in Hanoi, the Ethnology museum where we can see all 45 ethnic minority people with their unique cultures and characters in Vietnam. After the museum, we head back to the center city to get an adventure tour of cyclo around the Old Quarter. It’s safe and fun for the family when each member sits on the cyclo with the driver. He will take us along streets; get closer to local people in the Hanoi 36 streets.

End of cyclo tour, move to Thang Long Water Puppet Theater for one hour seeing the show. Let’s experience Vietnam traditional music performance with music and wooden puppets. We are back to the hotel for overnight or we can join the Night market if today is weekend. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (Overnight on Junk) (B, L, D)

Today we travel to Northeast of Hanoi to Halong Bay where we will spend almost our time on the deluxe junk cruise. It takes us around 3-hour driving then we catch the pier in the middle of the day. It’s not a long and tiring journey as the driver will stop us at a workshop on the way. Welcome upon arrival by crew team, our luggage will be checked in by them and tenders will sail us to the junk cruise. Joining the briefing about safety on board, we then check in and have delicious lunch while cruising deeper into the World Natural Heritage Bay.

In the afternoon, we join all activities on the cruise with tour guide as schedule such as kayaking, visiting the cave, swimming (if weather permits), climbing to the island to get the panorama of the Bay or just lazily relax on the sundeck or enjoy spa services available on cruise…. We enjoy fresh seafood dinner on board and stay overnight on the tranquil Bay of Halong.

Note: Children can share the kayak with parents or tour guide. It’s safe with light kayak and life jackets.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Boat to Cat Ba Island (B, L)

Sunrise time on Halong Bay is “should-not-be-missed” time. Try to get up early, go up to the sundeck and join Tai Chi session with Master or just relax on the chair, enjoy a cup of morning coffee, tea to see the sunrise and fresh Halong Bay. After that, taste breakfast and join the activities that the tour guide informs during breakfast time. We check out at about 10 AM and take the luggage out of cabins so crew team will bring them to our day boat which will take us to Cat Ba island where we will check in hotel and overnight. Overnight in Cat Ba Island.

Day 5: Cat Ba – Speedboat to Hai Phong City – Hanoi (B)

This morning, we will have the option to discover Cat Ba National Park by transferring to the forest, walk up along the path and see the park by own way; or we are just relaxing at the beach, explore the island town with local markets, fish port…. Free to pick our favorite seafood on a floating restaurant…. After that, we take the speedboat over the tranquil Lan Ha Bay, along Cai River to Hai Phong port city where our awaiting vehicle drives us back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Dong Ngac Village Cycling Tour – Fly to Hue (B, L)

This morning, we travel around 15km to the outskirt village of Hanoi to visit one of the most impressive culture villages in Vietnam, Dong Ngac Culture village. We will have the chance to explore the local market with many kinds of farming products which is not for tourists. We also visit the very Vietnamese ancient houses that built a hundred years ago with friendly people. All of the family members will try the local bikes with Vietnamese-style hats cycling around the villages, stop at the communal house, local school and along the peaceful lane. All of the things in the busy life are behinds and we are free to discover the Dong Ngac Culture village.

We lastly enjoy our lunch with host and transfer directly to the airport for our short domestic flight to Hue. Welcome upon arrival by Hue tour guide and driver, we then transfer to hotel, check in and relax. Optional for the family that we can take the scooter with driver and helmet to the outskirt of Hue city, visit Thanh Toan Bridge and rice fields…. Overnight in Hue.

Central Vietnam Family Adventure Tour in 4 Days

Day 7: Hue City Tour & Dragon Boat Trip along Perfume River (B, L)

After breakfast, feel and touch Hue by boat along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda which is located on the top of the hill. There will be many stories guided about the pagoda’s history, pagoda’s tower, and monks who fired himself to be against the old government during the Vietnam-American war…. And from Thien Mu pagoda, we will get the overview of Hue Romantic city. After the pagoda, the driver will take us to King Tu Duc’s tomb where we will see how romantic and soft King. The King who spent a lot of time and money to build the tomb for himself when he was still alive, made many local young men died and the local people poorer and poorer. Later have a short visit to the handicraft villages of the conical hat and incense and enjoy our lunch at very Hue restaurant.

In the afternoon, spend most of the time exploring the Citadel and the Forbidden City. The tour guide will show us from the first part to the last part of Citadel, from the re-instructed building to another still-collapsed during the war and many history stories are given. There will be King and Queen Photo services as well for visitors want to try to be. Leaving the Citadel, take a short ride to Dong Ba marketwhere is for both visitors and local people. This is the biggest market in Hue and it’s open from morning to evening. Overnight in Hue.

Remarks: Family can experience cyclo tour around the Citadel in the evening. This is a very interesting activity but of course, with guide escorted.

Day 8: Hue – Transfer to Hoi An via Danang – Walking Tour (B)

Today, travel south to Hoi An over Hai Van Pass and Danang port city. The driver and tour guide know well about the top places for our photo hunting and relaxing such as Lang Co Beach, top of Hai Van Pass or Marble Mountains, My Khe Beach….We also stop at Cham Museum in Danang city for a short visiting before heading to Hoi An ancient town.

In the afternoon, join the walking tour that built for all visitors to Hoi An with the tour guide. We visit all the places in town such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An – Farming & Fishing Eco Tour – Afternoon Free (B, L)

Farming and Fishing Eco Tour is designed for visitors who want to experience all the Vietnamese farmers’ activities in Vietnam such as riding water buffalo tours, working on the vegetable fields, catching fish on the river and casting net in the sea. Outside of the hotel in this morning are awaiting bicycles and expert guide, we start our tour by getting information, guidelines then start biking along the path, over the rice field and catch Tra Que organic herb village. From here, we will know well about how the local farmers grow veggie in an organic way.

Keep biking or taking the bus to the pier where we boat to along the river to the appointed place to join fish catching activity then the last destination is an island in Cua Dai sea for relaxing and having our delicious lunch cooked from the fresh ingredients from Tra Que and Cua Dai. Back to the hotel in the early afternoon, we are free for the rest of the day. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 10: Hoi An – Cooking Class – Afternoon Free (B)

It’s a miss if our family does not join a cooking class during we visit this city. We will tour a market with the chief before joining the hands-on cooking class. The chef will help us experience to bargain food, vegetables and other ingredients which we will use for our cook later in the market; and then he leads us to the restaurant where we start the cooking class. There are 3 to 4 fishes we will study to cook. Later, we will enjoy what we cooked.

After cooking class, we are free for shopping or tailoring or just relax at the swimming pool or beach. Overnight in Hoi An.

Southern Vietnam Family Adventure Tour in 5 Days

Day 11: Hoi An – Danang – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City – Vespa Tour (B)

Bid farewell to the Ancient Hoi An town today, we transfer back to Danang city for our short domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Meeting tour guide and driver with the same way to two previous airports, we later transfer to hotel.

Another adventure time for family is that we will start our experience 4-hour Saigon nightlife, the way locals do by Vespa tour at 6h00pm tonight. The Vespa drivers and tour guide will pick us up then drive us to Café zoom, enjoy cocktails and appetizer before adventuring into the favorite local eating spot. Later, the Vespa tour will take us around China town, District 4, District 3 to try many kinds of local street food which is very hygienic and safe for foreigners. The last stop may be at a lively bar or ice-cream workshop. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City Tour & Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)

Cu Chi Tunnel is about 70km far from Saigon center and it takes us around 1,3-hour driving. This is a heroic historical place in the South of Vietnam, the witness of two wars against American and French of Vietnamese. These are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels that were the location of military campaigns during American wars. This area is now a “should-not-be-missed” site for all visitors traveling to Vietnam. We will watch a short introduction video showing the foundation, activities… of Cu Chi tunnels and people lived here in the past then we will crawl all the safe parts of the tunnel system; enjoy some special cassava and tea that served free in the tour. Later, we can go to the shooting range where we can try to fire real bullets (costs US$1/bullet) or free for shopping at the souvenir shops.

Back to Ho Chi Minh city for our lunch before we take Saigon city tour. We will visit the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace during the Old South Vietnam Government; the War Remnant Museum with various artifacts, photographs & picture documents of the war. Then we stop at the Notre Dame Cathedral and Post Office to catch our beautiful and memorable photos of our trip and shopping time in Ben Thanh market. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta with Homestay (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we meet tour guide and driver again for our trip to Mekong Delta, home of river systems. We firstly stop at the Vinh Long market where we will have many photo opportunities of many kinds of local food and water products. After that, we boat to visit all the highlights of Vinh Long such as brick kilns, nursery garden and enjoy seasonal fruits, home-made rice wine… Our journey will be continued by taking the rowing boat along canals deeper into the villages. We connect to local people closely with their daily activities like catching fish, picking up fruits….

Arriving at the homestay, we have some fruits and tea while seeing the traditional music performance by the local artists. After lunch, we relax for a short time before biking along the village path and join to cook dinner with the host or relax. Dinner and overnight in Mekong homestay.

Day 14: Cai Be Floating Market – Saigon (B, L)

This morning, we boat to Cai Be colorful floating market to join with day buying and selling activities of local people in the heart of Mekong Delta. The tourist boat will take us among the barges full of local products such as fruits, vegetables and many kinds of colorful products. We can buy anything we like with tour guide’s help and get friendly smiles from Mekong Delta citizen. After the market trip, we will also stop at the local workshops and handicraft village where we will have a short free time for looking or shopping.

Later, the boat takes us back to Cai Be town where our awaiting vehicle transfers us back to the hotel in Saigon. Tonight we are free for picking up the favorite foods and explore Ben Thanh night market. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 15: Saigon Departure (B)

Today we will depart to the airport as appointed time with tour guide before then take the flight to home. 15-day Vietnam Family Adventure Tour ends.
