The Vietnam – Land of History tour is designed for teachers and students you who want to discover about Viet Nam history and experience culture. During 9 day itinerary, you will have opportunities to visit many historic and cultural destinations of Vietnam with a ton of impressive highlights. Upon arrival Ho Chi Minh City, you will descend into Cu Chi Tunnels to understand more about the history of the country during Vietnam war. Next, you will visit Long Tan Memorial Cross before heading to Hoi An. You also can admire the ancient beauty of My Son Holy Land with the cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples under the kings of Champa. Then, you will wander around a system of mausoleums and tombs with special sculptural and architectural arts in Hue. Your tour will finish in Hanoi where you will visit Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Hoa Loa Prison Museum, and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Your Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City arrival – Cu Chi Tunnels (D)
On arrival at the airport in Ho Chi Minh City, teacher and students will be driven to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the “Iron Triangle” or “Iron Land”. On our way there, we will drive through the rustic countryside; rubber plantations and rice paddies. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank, as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs, dropped by B52 bombers. After that, we transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city for overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Vung Tau – Long Tan – Nui Dat – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, our car will drive us to Vung Tau then to Ba Ria. On arrival, we will visit Ba Ria Orphanage where we will donate some gifts for the children. We will then visit Long Phuoc Tunnels. The tunnel is 1.1 Kilometers long with a clean and winding track inside before continue going to Nui Dat and an artillery area on the right. We will also visit Long Tan Memorial Cross which is established in 1969 by the 6RAR. We will take photos beside the cross on which the bronze plaque is hung.
After lunch in a local restaurant in Ba Ria, we will visit Minh Dam secret zone where diggers deployed on operations in 1968. In the late afternoon, we will drive back to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and overnight accommodation.

School trip in Long Tan Nui Dat

 

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Fly Danang – Hoi An (B, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will be free until our car arrives to take us to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City to board the noon flight to Danang. On arrival, we will be met and driven to our hotel in Hoi An. The rest of the day will be free at the beach or stroll around the Ancient Town. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 4: Hoi An – My Lai massacre – My Son Sanctuary (B, L, D)
Travel south of Hoi An after about 2,5-hour driving we reach to My Lai massacre. Then spend an hour there to see the complex of Massacre with Monument, The House of Evidence where documents, photos, and objects which testify to the massacre such as shirts, a pair of sandal of a killed child, all kinds of cups and plates, cookers and pans holed by cartridge, and wooden bells used for reciting prayers. All of them stir deep feelings in the visitors.
After this, drive to My Tra riverbank of Quang Ngai city for our lunch in the local restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit Holy Temple city of My Son which date back more than a thousand years ago. In the late afternoon, we turn to Hoi An for overnight accommodation.

Day 5: Hoi An – Danang – Hue (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel by vehicle to Hoi An along scenic highway 1A. Along the way, we will stop to contemplate the stunning views North, to Lang Co Beach and South to Danang city. Danang city with Cham Museum – the houses of the complete collection if Cham Artifacts anywhere in the world; China Beach – where the American named and used to have their Rest and Relaxation; and the Marble Mountain – the five elements of the Universe (water, wood, air, fire, and earth). On arrival in Hue, we will visit the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City; and Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue.

Day 6: Hue – DMZ – Hue (B, L, D)
As this excursion covers a large area of the wartime ‘De-militarised Zone’, better known as the DMZ, our guide and driver will meet us at our hotel at 7 AM to drive north to Quang Tri province. Your first visit will be the Old Citadel of Quang Tri. From there, we’ll drive to the battle sites of Khe Sanh Base with en-route visit Van Kieu, an ethnic minority village.

After lunch in a local restaurant, our route will take us to Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, as well as the Vinh Moc Tunnels (these are more authentic and easier to enter than those in Cu Chi. They have been preserved more or less in their original form). In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Hue for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 7: Hue City Tour – Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will this ancient Capital city of many original historical vestiges. There are more than 100 architectural works to be extremely reflected the life of Emperors and Mandarins under Nguyen’s reign. Situated in the middle of hills on the Southern Bank of Perfume River are very beautiful tombs of Nguyen Kings.

We then transfer to the Wharf where we will cruise along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda (The Heavenly Lady pagoda), from here we will have a good view of Perfume River and surroundings. And boating to Tu Duc King’s tomb, which is one of the most beautiful works of Royal Architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty. The tomb lies in a boundless pine forest.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we will be back to the hotel to refresh before boarding the afternoon train to Hanoi SE4 (16.39 – 05.30). We spend the night on the train.

School trip in Hue

 

Day 8: Hanoi Orientation (B, L, D)
Upon arrival in Hanoi early in the morning at 05.30 AM, teacher and students will be greeted then transferred to hotel.
After breakfast and a short rest, we will visit the famous Hoang Thanh Thang Long (Imperial Citadel of Thang Long) – a cultural complex comprising the Royal enclosure, which was first built in the Ly Dynasty in the 19th century. We will then visit the nearly Flag Tower of Hanoi – a symbol of the city with 33.4 height. The flag tower was used as a military post during French war and now located in the Military History Museum. After visiting the museum, we will visit the Temple of Literature, which originally built as a temple to Confucius.

After lunch, we will visit the infamous Hoa Loa Prison Museum. Hoa Loa is also known as the ‘’Hanoi Hilton’’ and was where former US presidential candidate John McCain was incarcerated for over 5 years. Later on, we drive to the Museum of Ethnology, which is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. Overnight in Hanoi.
