Sapa, Lao Cai: Sapa is a small town of Northern Vietnam Province of Lao Cai. it is about 280 kms away from Hanoi. Nowadays, you can reach Sapa easily by train or by car, it takes about 8 hours by train and about 6 hours by car. Sapa is well known as a famous tourist attraction in North Vietnam. Sapa attracts tourist by its majestic mountains and colorful ethnic minorities including Black Hmong, Red Dao, Day, Tay and Xa Pho.
Sapa is as bustling as Lao Chai Village is peace. If you come here in the rice harvest season, the first impression that you must be surprised is the terraced fields on the hillside stretching to endless. If you want to admire the gorgeous of golden terraced fields, you should come here in April or September. The rice harvest season is also the time that the village is most fun and cozy. At that time in Lao Chai village, you will find the scent of aromatic rice mixed with the wind, spreading all over the forest and the village like inviting tourists to the village. Lao Chai village shows up as a beautiful landscape painting in the rice harvest season.

Your Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa
7.30 AM : Pick up at your hotel for 5 hours scenic drive to Sapa via the newly built highway of “Noi Bai- Lao Cai”– a great journey to enjoy beautiful scenery of Vietnam’s northwest region.
Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog.
Arrive Sapa around noon – check in hotel
Have lunch in local restaurant
After lunch we drive down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley dotting remote hill tribe villages such as Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai village of Hmong people, Ta Van of Dzay people, the villages surrounded by stunning rice terraces. You will take a short walking down to Lao Chai village from main road, through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. Visit local families which offer you a worth chance to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes…on the way. Last trek is about 1 km to the bus stop in Ta Van, drive back to Sapa in the late afternoon.

Day 2: Sapa tour

Morning: Guide and car pick up for short drive to Fansipan cable station
Visit Fansipan Mountain by the cable car. As you know the cable car in Sapa is the world’s longest and highest cable car, running up from sleepy Sapa Town in Lao Cai Province to the peak of 3,143-meter Fansipan Mountain, known as Indochina’s rooftop. Enjoy the view from the highest point of this incredible mountain. The lush green and subtropical vegetation makes this mountain really very beautiful. Take some pictures for unforgettable experience from the top. After taking scenery then get cable car back to Sapa.
Have lunch in local restaurant
Afternoon: Pick up at hotel then drive up hills toward Sapa heaven’s gate, is the highest point of Vietnam’s roads, 2,000 meters above sea level. At the top of the pass, you can see Lai Chau’s beautiful valleys below. From the pass, visitors can admire the imposing panorama of the Fansipan Mountain, the highest mountain in Indochina.
Stop for visiting Silver Waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in Sapa. Then we continue our drive uphill to the Heavens Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam as well as the provincial border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. Enjoy fantastic view over the valley!
Drive back to your hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 3: Sapa tour – Hanoi

Take the morning trip to Ta Phin village – Ta Phin village is one of attractions in Sapa should not be ignored when visiting this land. Ta Phin is nestled in a beautiful and pristine valley, around 15 kilometers in the northeast of Sapa. This is a village of “Dao Do” ethnic group. Visiting Ta Phin, tourist can catch images of Dao Do women in very beautiful and colorful dress made from brocade, a traditionally hand-made product of local people here. These people are quite friendly and hospitable. In addition, travelling this village, tourists can explore customs, traditions, and culture of the ethnic community, which will be staged repertoires for tourists like wedding ceremonies and some types of traditional dances.
Have lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Hanoi
After lunch, get picked up at hotel for transfer back to Hanoi – This journey will take about 5-hours on a newly built free way along the Red River. In this daytime drive you can enjoy beautiful roadside views along the way: rice paddies, village houses, red river, misty mountains, etc..

Can Cau Market is located in Si Ma Cai district, Lao Cai Province. Can Cau Market is only 18 kms from Bac Ha Market, 90 kms from Lao Cai Station, 125km from Sapa. Can Cau Market is opened on every Saturday. Can Cau market is definitely a local market with livestock, foodstuffs, and masses of colorful fabrics and clothes for the Flower Hmong women to enhance their already elaborate outfits.
